By using VeriFix you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What VeriFix is
VeriFix helps people check information before they believe or share it. You can submit text, links, social posts, WhatsApp forwards, voice notes and short video clips, and VeriFix researches available evidence and presents a sourced result. VeriFix also publishes verified stories and provides a FactCheck Workspace for newsrooms and fact-checking organisations.
3. Public Beta
VeriFix is currently in Public Beta. Features, coverage, sources and verification quality are still improving, and parts of the service may change or be unavailable without notice.
4. Results are informational
Verification results, confidence values and summaries are informational. They are not legal, medical, financial or professional advice, and they are not a court-style ruling about a person or organisation.
5. AI-assisted verification and its limits
AI assists with research, summarisation and translation. It can miss context, misread sources or make mistakes, especially on fast-moving or low-coverage events. Always check the linked sources before acting on a result.
6. No guarantee of absolute accuracy
We do not claim any result is guaranteed correct. A result reflects the evidence available at the time of checking and may change as new evidence appears.
7. Your responsibilities
- Use VeriFix lawfully and respect other people’s rights.
- Read the evidence before sharing a result or drawing conclusions.
- Do not present a VeriFix result as an independent human editorial verdict unless it is a published, editor-reviewed fact-check.
8. Prohibited misuse
- Submitting malware, illegal material or content you have no right to share.
- Scraping, bulk downloading or bypassing rate limits.
- Attacking, overloading or reverse-engineering the service.
- Using VeriFix to harass, defame or mislead.
9. Content you submit
You keep your rights to what you submit and grant VeriFix a non-exclusive licence to process it in order to run and improve verification and, where an editor decides it is in the public interest, to publish a fact-check based on the claim.
10. Public content
Published stories and public fact-checks are visible to anyone and may be indexed by search engines, embedded through our widget and shared. Original publishers retain the rights to their articles and media; VeriFix links back and shows limited excerpts.
11. FactCheck Workspace
Workspace access is granted per organisation and per role. Members must keep their organisation’s claims, research and drafts confidential until publication, and may only publish content they are authorised to publish.
12. Editorial responsibility
For public fact-checks published through the workspace, human researchers and editors make and remain responsible for the final editorial decision. AI does not publish editorial verdicts on its own.
13. Third-party sources and links
VeriFix links to external sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
14. Intellectual property
The VeriFix platform, brand, design and derived analysis belong to VeriFix. You may share and quote public fact-checks with attribution and a link.
15. Availability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, particularly during Public Beta.
16. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and everything done with it. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live).
17. Corrections and disputes
If you believe a published result is wrong, tell us through the contact page and include the relevant source. Corrections are reviewed and, where justified, published as an update to the fact-check.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VeriFix and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions taken on the basis of a verification result.
19. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date above.
